Television is a drug

If you want to watch the video again.

If you want to read the poem again.
Look at me. Look at me. Look at me, look at me, look at me. Look at me. No, no, no, dont look over there, look at me, look at me, look at me.
Are you looking at me? Is everyone looking at me? Do I have your attention? Good.
Dont get the wrong idea. Im not trying to take over your life. You need, what? What do you need? You need to, what? Go to the bathroom? Fine. Get up, goto the bathroom, come back, look at me. You need, what? You need to get something to eat? Fine. Get up, go to the kitchen, get something to eat, come back, look at me. You need to, what, sleep? Fine, get up, go to bed, go to sleep, get up, come back, look at me.
Okay. So we have an agreement. You will do what you absolutely need to do, and when your done, you will come back and look at me.
Dont worry about your schedule. I am here for you. I am here for you. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, I am here for you. I am here for you. You need me, I'm here. Fair and foul, thick and thin, I am here for you. I am here for you. People try to tell you I'm bad? You tell them that I am here for you. Twenty-four hours a day, fair and foul, thick and thin, I am here for you. I am here for you. People try to tell you I'm bad, know what that sounds like to me? Sour Grapes.
You see what I--hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, no, dont look over there, theres nothing going on over there, look at me, look at me, look at me.
I've got stuff you wouldnt believe. Danger? Sex? Action? Death? Thrills? Comedy? All here, all in the next eight minutes.
Can you believe it? You can't. It's unbelievable. You can't believe it because its unbelievable! It's a miracle.
Just keep looking at me. Just keep looking at me. Just keep looking at me. Look at me, look at me, look at me, look at me, look at me.

Thursday, May 26th

This is what was said about Paul Brown's book:

The document is a cover of a book. This book was published by the newspaper, The Guardian, which is a quality paper in the UK. The title is "Global warning", the last chance for change; It is a pun with global warming. We can deduce the book is certainly about environmental issues. The cover of the book is a black and white photograph that shows a lonely man pushing his bike in the water. The place is flooded and the scene takes place during a hurricane or a tornado. The cover is rather pessimistic and alarmist; We understand that the author will speak about the attitude men must have if they want to live in a better world.

This is what was said about the video we saw:
The video we saw was also about global warming. It showed a man whose house has shrunk. In fact, it's getting smaller and smaller and he couldn't live in it any longer. The last image showed a polar bear in danger on an ice block , drifting(flotter à la dérive) on the sea. Then, we could read: Global warming, when you feel it, it's already too late. In this commercial the film maker wants to inform people about the danger of climate change, making a parallel between certain animal species in danger and human beings. Soon human beings will have to face the same problems.

Script de l'audio de Kate

Correction
Three girls are going out of school. A teenager calls one of the girl by her name. She doesn't seem to know him. She seems surprised. A few minutes later, when crossing the sport ground a coach calls the girl by her name again. Then , when going to the cinema with her boyfriend, Sarah is really embarrassed when the man asks her what colour underwear she wears today. At the canteen , an employee asks her whether she is going to post something new;
No doubt Sarah belongs to a social network / Sarah must belong to a social network and must have posted private pictures of herself since everybody recognizes her. The photos may have been posted by somebody else too.
The document is a short video. It is an informative commercial to warn / to prevent people from posting on the internet. People should be careful before posting because family, friends, anybody can see.
I think......
If this girl is taking revealing pictures of herself and putting them online for people to look at, it is doubtful that she is innocent!

Research by a British anthropologist shows that the optimum number of friendships that the human brain can maintain is about a hundred and fifty. But it's in the real world. What happens on Facebook where the maximum number of friends permitted is five thousand?
According to social networking statistics, the average Facebook user has a hundred and thirty friends. Some people have a lot more;
Ivy Bean from Bradford in the north of England became Facebook's oldest known user at the age of a hundred and two in 2008. She quickly started making friends and became an online celebrity. When she maxed out her five thousand friend count on Facebook, Ms Bean joined the Twitter website and continued her social networking. At the time of her death in July 2010, she had four thousand, nine hundred and sixty-two friends on Facebook and more than fifty thousand followers (including the Prime Minister's wife) on Twitter. Ms Bean's last tweet was July 6 2010. It read, "Going to have my lunch now will be back later."

Homework for Tuesday, January 11th

Exercise using "MAY"
I don't know Tim very much. So I'm not really sure about the following sentences.
Perhaps Tim works in an office.
Perhaps he is busy.
Perhaps he wants to travel this year.
Perhaps he plays an instrument.
Perhaps he doesn't want to see you.
Perhaps he isn't a nice man.

Transform using "may".
Ex: Perhaps he comes from the South of England --> He may come from the South of England.
