What is the best vacation you have ever taken?

My nicest holidays were in summer 2010 when I went to Paris with my sister. It is the most popular touristic destination in the world!

We visited the most famous places such as the wax Grévin museum, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the science museum called la cité des sciences...

We also went shopping in the biggest stores. For instance, we spent time and money in the 10 storey department store, located boulevard Haussmann: the Galeries Lafayette. Its dome is made of steel and glass.

The weather was beautiful so we walked but we took the most convenient and the quickest means of transport: the tube.

An episode of " Friends"

On Thursday, 8 of you were absent. We watched the ninth episode of the first season of "Friends". "Friends" is an American situation comedy about a group of friends in the New York City borough of Manhattan. We watched this episode because it was about Thanksgiving.

A joke to read.

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.

Every word out of the bird's' mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.  John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to 'clean up' the bird's vocabulary.

Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The  parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even more rude. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet.  Not a peep was heard for over a minute.

Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer.  The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions.  I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude!

As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird spoke-up, very softly, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

Some of you went to science museums but you said you didn't visit art museums. Now you know the title of the two first documents and the names of the artists. September, the eleventh 2001 What happened?

At 8:46 a plane crashed directly into the Northern Tower of the World Trade Center. When it exploded, the storeys caught fire at once.

A few minutes later, at 9:02 a second plane hit the Southern Tower . 

As World Trade Center workers went down the stairs to escape, firefighters entered the WTC to help in the evacuation.

As the heat from the inferno became intolerable, some people jumped from the towers to escape the flames.

At 10:02, the Southern Tower of the World Trade Centre collapsed (= fell down) in a huge cloud of smoke.

About half an hour later the second tower (the northern one) collapsed. Thousands of tonnes of debris covered the entire area.

Rudolph Giuliani, the mayor, immediately placed his city on emergency footing (position). The subway lines were shut down, bridges, tunnels were closed……

On the anniversary of September 11 terrorist attacks (9/11/2010), President Barack Obama paid tribute to the victims.

Vrai, j'aurai du être plus vigilante! Que voulez-vous, il y a des jours où l'on a plus de chance que d'autres. Ce vendredi était un jour"sans". Me voilà donc immobilisée mais je ne vous abandonne pas pour autant. Pour ne pas perdre nos bonnes habitudes , ce blog va nous permettre de continuer notre travail.
Vous avez revu les 15 premiers verbes irréguliers de la page 176. Je vous invite à continuer et à revoir les 15 suivants jusqu'à fight.Savoir les écrire est important .Pensez à les lire à haute voix. La phonétique est mentionnée. Sinon vous pouvez vous rendre à cette adresse pour  les entendre et les répéter.
